Silpakorn University Welcomes Delegates from Nanjing University of the Arts to Strengthen Academic Collaboration
On Thursday, 6 March 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Non Khuncumchoo, Vice President for Planning and Development; Asst. Prof. Dr. Veerawat Sirivesmas, Deputy Dean for Research and International Affairs; Asst. Prof. Wootichai Lertsatakit, Dean for Faculty of Music; Mr. Chanutr Techatananan, Deputy Dean for International Affairs and Mr. Damrih Banawitayakit, faculty member of Faculty of Music, extended a warm welcome to Prof. Zhang Jie, Vice President; Mr. Wang Xiaojun, Dean of the School of Music; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yu Rui, Director of the Office ofInternational Exchange and Cooperation, Nanjing University of the Arts. The meeting took place at Room 414, 4th Floor, Office of the President, Taling Chan Campus, focusing on fostering academic collaboration and exchange programs between the two institutions. The visit aimed to introduce Nanjing University of the Arts’s academic programs, discuss the exchange of faculty, staff, scholars, students and explore possibilities for collaborative research and curriculum development. Both universities also reviewed their existing academic cooperation agreement and considered renewing and expanding their partnership. Since establishing their academic partnership in 2020, Silpakorn University and Nanjing University of the Arts have played a pivotal role in promoting cultural and artistic exchanges between Thailand and China. Silpakorn University and ICCR Renew MoU to Strengthen Sanskrit Studies
On Friday 21 February 2025, Silpakorn University held a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The MoU was signed by Professor Dr. Tanasait Ngawhirunpat, President of Silpakorn University, and H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to Thailand, representing ICCR. The ceremony took place at the Narisaranuwattiwong Room, 4th floor, Office of the President, Taling Chan. This MoU aims to promote academic exchange, particularly in Sanskrit studies, through the appointment of visiting professors from the Republic of India. These professors will teach Sanskrit, provide academic guidance, and serve as thesis advisors for students and faculty members. The Sanskrit Center, Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University, has been collaborating with ICCR since 1990. This signing marks the renewal of the MoU for another two years, ensuring the continued deployment of experts in Sanskrit studies and related fields to support teaching, research, and knowledge enhancement on Indian civilization at the university. The renewal of this collaboration reflects the strong relationship between Silpakorn University and ICCR, as well as their commitment to advancing Sanskrit studies and related disciplines at an international level.

Silpakorn University Joins Malaysia Education Fair 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Silpakorn International Centre and Silpakorn University International College, participated in the “Malaysia Education Fair 2024” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, During 11 – 12 January 2025. This event was part of Silpakorn University’s strategic plan to enhance its international image. The objectives were to promote Silpakorn University on a global scale and to publicize its academic programs abroad, with a focus on increasing the number of international students. The fair was attended by over 10,000 students from various institutions, along with more than 30 booths representing leading universities from Malaysia and other countries.

The International Day (Thai Night) 2025
Silpakorn International Centre was honored by Professor Tanasait Ngawhirunpat, Ph.D., President, who presided over the opening ceremony of the “International Day” event on Friday 10 January 2025 at Silpakorn International Centre, Silpakorn University, 2nd floor, Office of the President, Taling Chan. The event was organized with the aim of providing a valuable learning experience for international students at Silpakorn University through the “Thai Night” activities. The goal was to foster relationships, exchange cultural knowledge, and engage in various collaborative activities. The event received cooperation from academic faculties in participating in these activities. Silpakorn International Centre would like to express its gratitude to the faculties and Assistant Professor Sompid Kattiyapikul, Ph.D., Advisor to Silpakorn International Centre, for their support in making this event a success. This event marks the important step of Silpakorn International Centre in providing services and supporting the internationalization of the university (International Support Services).

On Wednesday 8 January 2025, Associate Professor Prasopchai Patrojanasophon, Ph.D., Vice President for Research; Assistant Professor Boonnada Pamornpathomkul, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Research; Dr. Parinya Roonpho, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Associate Professor Apiradee Kasemsook, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Architecture; Assistant Professor Damrongphon Inchan, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology; Associate Professor Warangkana Nibhatsukit, Ph.D, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, along with executives from the Faculty of Arts; Professor Pornsak Sriamornsak, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; and Assistant Professor Nathaporn Karnjanapoomi, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, extended a warm welcome to Prof. James Robson, Director of the Harvard-Yenching Institute, and Prof. Michael Herzfeld, Ernest E. Monrad Professor of the Social Sciences Emeritus, Department of Anthropology, Harvard University, USA. The welcoming ceremony took place at Conference Room 401, 4th Floor, Office of the President, Taling Chan Campus, during their visit to Silpakorn University to promote the institute and its scholarship programs.
